As a starting point, a presentation held by Olavi TUPAMÄKI 24 Sep 2002 in Sustainable Building 2002 Conference, Oslo Norway, is shown here. It covers sustainable development, sustainable construction, total LCC and probabilistic approach to LCC. Some opinions presented call for a fundamental readjustment of the general thinking, and some others are speculative approaches to the existing problems utilising the newest scientific knowledge and software.
